Introduction: The proposal for palliative care has been gaining strength in recent years and several studies and methods are being developed to guarantee an adequate end of life for the person. The objective of this work is to analyze the impact of palliative care provided by the nursing team to elderly patients in home care. Materials and Methods: Study was prepared through an integrative literature review. Results: After all inclusion and exclusion criteria were met, 15 articles were selected for full evaluation, 9 of which did not meet the study proposal and 6 were included in the review. Among these, a predominance was identified in the impact of palliative care provided by nursing to elderly patients in home care and the role of nurses in promoting palliative care. Conclusion: The importance of an approach that values family coexistence, affection and reintegration of the patient into the family nucleus is highlighted, thus promoting an improvement in the patient's quality of life at the end of life. Nursing care must be holistic, focusing not only on physical needs, but also on biopsychosocial and emotional dimensions, preparing all parties involved for the final outcome.
