This is a descriptive and cross-sectional study, based on notifications of mental disorders involving nurses in the state of Bahia between 2006 and 2022. Among the disorders that most affected these professionals, stress, sometimes related to a large workload; neurotics, who favor excessive worry and develop anxiety; and somatoform disorders, characterized by the appearance of symptoms and bodily signs without a medical explanation. The analysis reveals that the male public, aged 30 to 39 years and of mixed race/color, is the majority among individuals who develop such problems, with 17 men and 3 women out of a total of 20 found. Furthermore, some of these professionals are unaware of the flows faced by referring a case about a mental disorder, and for reasons of lack of knowledge or lack of motivation, many individuals end up not having access to these specialized care services. Because of this, it is relevant to study aspects related to mental disorders and nurses' health in the state of Bahia.
