Abstract

Cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA) is one of the main causes of sudden death worldwide, requiring an immediate and qualified response from health professionals. Objective: To identify scientific productions on Basic Life Support in the context of Primary Health Care and analyze the possibilities and challenges of implementing Basic Life Support (BLS) in Primary Health Care. Method: Integrative review carried out in the MEDLINE, LILACS, IBECS, LIPECS and SciELO databases, through the Virtual Health Library (VHL), with the selection of publications in Portuguese, available in full, published between 2015 and 2025. The descriptors used were: Basic Life Support; Nursing; Primary Care and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Results: Twelve articles were included in the final analysis, from which two central thematic categories emerged: Barriers to the implementation of BLS in Primary Health Care and Strategies for training and continuing education. Conclusion: Significant gaps in the knowledge and practice of professionals, relevant structural barriers and the need for periodic and contextualized training were identified. On the other hand, the studies analyzed point to promising ways to strengthen these actions, through practical training, realistic simulations, investments in infrastructure and greater coordination with emergency services.
