Atención de pacientes hipertensos en la Clínica Odontológica de la Universidad de Vassouras

La Hipertensión Arterial Sistémica (HAS) es una Enfermedad Crónica No Transmisible (ECNT) con alta prevalencia en Brasil y que carece de síntomas y signos claros. Es importante identificar y manejar estas condiciones en pacientes durante la atención odontológica, debido a los posibles efectos secundarios de los medicamentos y al riesgo de complicaciones durante el tratamiento. Se requiere una anamnesis detallada para pacientes hipertensos y un protocolo adecuado en casos de crisis hipertensiva durante el tratamiento odontológico. Este estudio evaluó historias clínicas odontológicas, revelando una prevalencia significativa de hipertensión, especialmente en mujeres, resaltando la importancia de la concienciación y el monitoreo de la salud sistémica durante la práctica odontológica. Sin embargo, se encontraron algunas limitaciones, como el tamaño muestral reducido y la necesidad de mejorar la documentación clínica.
