Conhecimentos necessários para abordagem e identificação da violência doméstica pelos cirurgiões-dentistas

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar los conocimientos clínicos y sociales necesarios para el abordaje e identificación de la violencia doméstica por parte de los cirujanos dentistas. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con enfoque mixto, a partir de la bibliografía disponible en las bases de datos Google Académico, PubMED, BVS, SciELO, Portal CAPES de teses e dissertações, además de consultar la base de datos DATASUS/M.S., documentos técnicos y de ciencia y legislaciones. La mayoría de las víctimas fueron mujeres, solteras, jóvenes y adultas, negras, siendo los agresores hombres, parejas y ex parejas de la víctima y realizaron la agresión sin el uso de armas. Los daños que provoca pueden ser psicológicos, familiares, sexuales y físicos, con lesiones frecuentes en la cabeza y el cuello, principalmente en los tejidos blandos y el tercio medio de la cara. Por lo tanto, el papel del odontólogo es ayudar a reducir, prevenir e identificar la violencia doméstica, además de denunciar los casos.
