Challenges of exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months of a baby's life

Introduction: Breastfeeding is a physiological process that occurs naturally, it is the healthiest way to feed and protect the newborn, it has always been present since the beginning of humanity. The object of the article is the identification of practices that favor breastfeeding in the first semester of a baby's life. Methodology: The present study is a bibliographic review, with exploratory qualitative aspects. This review method will make it possible to group and analyze the data, and through a critical way produce knowledge of the topic investigated. The objective of the present study is to identify practices that favor breastfeeding in the first semester of a baby's life. Analysis and discussion of results: Exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months is fundamental for the health and healthy development of the child, providing nutritional, immunological, emotional and psychological benefits for both the baby and the mother. However, throughout this study, it became clear that several obstacles can hinder the practice of exclusive breastfeeding. Final Thoughts: While the challenges of exclusive breastfeeding in the first half of the year are significant, they can be overcome with coordinated efforts, including effective health policies, education, and ongoing support.
