Nursing role in preventing childhood obesity

Childhood obesity has become a global public health challenge. In this context, this study aims to analyze the role of nursing in preventing childhood obesity, highlighting the strategies, interventions, and approaches adopted by these professionals to promote health and prevent excess weight in children. This research falls within a qualitative approach, utilizing literature review as the methodology to explore the wide range of actions implemented by nurses in this field. The results underscore the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration involving nurses, endocrinologists, pediatricians, nutritionists, psychologists, and physical education professionals. The implementation of preventive strategies, nutritional monitoring, and the promotion of healthy habits emerges as fundamental components in reducing the prevalence of childhood obesity.
