Asistencia a Embarazadas y Madres en el Sistema Penitenciario Brasileño

El estudio se realiza con el objetivo de conocer cuál es la asistencia prestada a las mujeres embarazadas y puérperas en el sistema penitenciario brasileño. Se sabe que el embarazo es un ciclo notable en la vida de una mujer, y cuando se habla de embarazo en el ámbito penitenciario, hay algunos cambios tanto en la asistencia que se les brinda como en la vida misma de la mujer. En su metodología, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con enfoque cualitativo, utilizando los descriptores enfermería, gestantes, prisiones y reclusos, los artículos seleccionados tenían un lapso de tiempo entre 2012 y 2022 y estaban en portugués. Como resultado, podemos observar que la asistencia a estas gestantes es deficiente, a diferencia de las que son libres, y la permanencia en prisión favorece que estas gestantes desarrollen enfermedades por tratarse de un ambiente en condiciones precarias. Concluye que la asistencia en el ámbito penitenciario necesita mejoras, ya que es un derecho de esta población.
