Percepciones de los acompañantes de los niños sometidos a cirugía pediátrica en relación al postoperatorio

La hospitalización y la cirugía favorecen el desarrollo de sentimientos que pueden repercutir en la vida de los niños y sus familias, siendo importante la intervención del equipo de enfermería para proporcionar una atención integral. El objetivo de este estudio fue, por lo tanto, identificar la percepción de los acompañantes de los niños sobre la orientación postoperatoria en cirugía pediátrica. Se caracteriza por ser un estudio exploratorio, descriptivo y con enfoque cualitativo. Las entrevistas tuvieron lugar en la sala de cirugía pediátrica de un hospital universitario de la ciudad de Rio de Janeiro. El público objetivo fueron los cuidadores de niños sometidos a cirugía, con un total de 128 participantes. Los resultados muestran que, en general, los cuidadores reciben orientación, con mayor frecuencia en relación con la alimentación y el ayuno y el cuidado de los apósitos y las heridas quirúrgicas. Los cuidadores orientados mostraron conocimientos satisfactorios, seguridad y autonomía para ayudar en los cuidados del niño.
