Carcinoma epidermóide de mucosa bucal – relato de casos

Resumen

O carcinoma epidermóide ou carcinoma de células escamosas representam 90% das neoplasias malignas da cavidade bucal. Eles pertencem a um grupo heterogêneo de lesões que se diferem em etiologia, freqüência, manifestações clínicas, localização primária e tipo histopatológico. O câncer bucal apresenta elevada taxa de incidência e mortalidade no Brasil e é considerado um problema de saúde pública. O objetivo desse trabalho foi verificar a priorização da realização do diagnóstico precoce de câncer bucal e eliminar fatores etiológicos, propiciando aos pacientes acometidos uma terapêutica satisfatória, no aumento da sobrevida. Esse estudo relatou dois casos clínicos de carcinoma epidermóide da mucosa bucal diagnosticados em estágios diferentes na Clínica Odontológica da Universidade Severino Sombra em Vassouras. Verificou-se a importância do diagnóstico precoce na terapêutica adotada e no prognóstico do caso.
