Physical education in Brazil: an analysis of scientific production in the biodynamics subfield
Abstract
This article aimed to discuss the academic production of programs in stricto sensu postgraduate courses in Physical Education, from 2001 to 2010. 618 master's dissertations and 175 doctoral theses were analyzed, from postgraduate programs: USP, UNESP, UFRGS, UNICAMP and UGF from the biodynamic subarea. When analyzing the dissertations, the findings indicated a predominance of the Sports Training category in the programs at USP, UNESP and UNICAMP. The theses presented a greater concentration in the Exercise Physiology/Biochemistry category, with a greater concentration in the programs at UNESP, UFGRS and UGF. The analysis of the works showed great interest among researchers in the production of studies aimed at discussions around the improvement of sports performance, as well as the acute and chronic effects of physical exercise, a result that is in line with the literature.
