Abstract

Introduction: analyze the factors related to vaccine hesitancy against covid-19, highlighted by lactating women during the pandemic. Materials and Methods: This is a quantitative research consisting of 63 breastfeeding women, whose data were analyzed using simple descriptive statistics. A structured online form was used in a websurvey-type investigation. Results: It was identified that they were breastfeeding women aged 25 to 30 years (44%) and 20% took between 1 and 2 doses of the vaccine. Women's hesitancy regarding covid-19 vaccination was influenced by several factors, such as: 9% reported resistance to getting vaccinated due to family members, 8% hesitated due to questions about the origin of the vaccine and 7% had fears related to the vaccine production technique and also due to adverse events arising from the immunizer. Discussion: Vaccine hesitancy is present in the decision-making of pregnant and postpartum women against the covid-19 vaccine and remains at worrying levels, becoming limited in achieving the necessary criteria for the development of collective immunity. Conclusion: Therefore, identifying the factors that contribute to vaccine hesitancy is of paramount importance in order to develop more effective strategies, especially for breastfeeding women. With the purpose of clarifying doubts and providing information that can assist these women in making decisions, emphasizing the importance of vaccination against covid-19.
