Abstract

Introduction: This review article aims to understand the awareness of Community Health Agents (CHAs) throughout their training trajectory to improve their technical skills to enhance the care provided to the community. Materials and Methods: State-of-the-art review, which identified 162 studies, 93 in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline), 54 in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and 15 in the Nursing Database (BDENF). After applying the eligibility criteria in the databases and the exclusion criteria, 11 studies were selected. Results: The 11 articles were synthesized and systematically arranged in two tables for better presentation of the information. Discussion: Based on the studies discussed above, the relevance of the characteristics of the transformative potential of Pedagogical Training in Health (FPS) in the performance of CHAs and the positive impact that a qualified performance of these professionals can have on the health of the communities served stands out. Final considerations: Therefore, it is necessary to increase the number of integrated actions for Pedagogical Training in Health, aiming to improve the technical skills of the ACS, in addition to expanding studies on strategies to stimulate awareness in this perspective.
