Los cuidados paliativos en el proceso de trabajo de enfermería: acción permanente de educación en salud

Resumen

Introduction: There is an urgent need to include palliative care in comprehensive health care.  Objective is to identify the existing knowledge about palliative care of nursing professionals in the onco-hematology sector of a hospital located in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Methodology: Qualitative research, with a descriptive approach, with the use of a conversation circle for data collection through a semi-structured questionnaire and dynamics. Results: Conversation circles were held, with the participation of 5 (five) teams and 13 (thirteen) workers. All of the nursing team, in view of the inclusion criteria adopted. The processing took Minayo's Thematic Analysis and the identification of 3 (three) thematic units: 1) The team's understanding of palliative care; 2) Family integrated into palliative care and 3) Mental health of nursing professionals. Final Considerations: The implementation and diffusion of palliative care services is urgent, which increases the demand for professionals with knowledge in the area that reverts to comprehensive care that incorporates palliative care. Permanent Education in Health shows its importance by shedding light on the problems and difficulties encountered in the reality of work so that people who demand palliative care have it in a comprehensive way.
